Nissan Skyline - Brakes

Changed the brake pads from original nissan to Ferrodo type 300cc. Initially I felt the car is responding slowly due to the new brake pads. After driving for about less than 2 days my rear wheels vibrates badly at speeds 80Km/h. Wow that is not good, I got to fix this. I took my car to the GH and after diagnosing the doctor told me that indeed there is need for a treatment.

Now this is not very good, cause I just changed the brakes and did flush the brake fluids. I am not happy :(. barely 1 week after changing the brake pads I got to spend again? @#&^@*#^@*After getting appointment from my doctor I went back home. Two days later I went to the doctor to get medicine for the disease. Well it's time to do up the brakes. The mechanic opened one side lug nuts, tire and brake hose trying to move the cylinder valve. It looks like the valve gasket is damaged.

The mechanic managed to find a replacement part from Mercedes. All fixed and again the brake fluid was flushed and replaced. Took for a spin mmmm....now the brakes back to normal.

Tie Rod and Tie Rod End

As the car is getting older parts tend to give away. This is the nature of all mechanical parts. The Nissan Skyline ER34 has no exceptions. Recently I had been advised by the mechanic to look for replacement for my tie rod and tie rod ends. The tie rod and tie rod end is crucial part for the tyre to be in shape. If we don't change them the tyres will tend to eat up one side.

Yes, when I checked the front Tyre it wobbles right and left. Well the search begins....as for my surprise there is no stock unit available anywhere, all they have is reinforced parts from Japan. Why the hell spend so much to replace with the reinforced unit when one can find locally.

After searching for the replacement parts for about 3weeks I found that EJ has just changed a new set and the best part is this tie rod and tie rod end is from nissan serena C4. This is amazing one can use parts from Nissan serena for the skyline.

This is the part number;

1) Paraut tie rod for Nissan Serena C24
     (Part No. V13-238 / Nissan Part No. 48521-4N100)

 2) Paraut tie rod end for Nissan A32/A33/C23
     (Part No. V13-126 / Nissan Part No. 48520-0M085)
