GTR MFD Screen on GTT

To all the GTT owners what do you think about the title? You may think...come on  man are you out of senses. That is not possible errrrr maybe its possible. Yeah...it is just some tweaks here and there. Put the magic touch and you will have the GTR MFD on your GTT.
First of all get hold of the MFD screen then we can talk about the rest. I would say nope get all other required parts to make this possible first. Get things sorted out on your shopping list which will make sure the MFD will function. I am not going to list all the required parts at the moment, maybe later.
So why talking about this now? I have a plan.....drafted carefully taking into consideration of possible flaws in the  design and implementation. Well aren't we suppose to see a GTT with a GTR MFD any soon. I don't know. Just thought of the idea.

.........I am back, now I have completed the transformations of the GTR MFD to my GTT. The items below is a must in your shopping list. Please note that in order to watch Video via the MFD unit we can just just connect the video cable directly to the MFD unit( no modification needed). Also for the reverse/forward camera function as well. There no reason to invest in a high end DVD player in your car if you have the MFD installed.

1. MFD harness
2. Cables
3. Connectors
4. MFD cover
5. Screws to hold  the unit
6. and of course the MFD unit.

Tools,
1. Soldering iron
2. Lead
3. Shrinking tube
4. Pliers/Cutter
5. Wire stripper

Nevertheless you may need TIME to complete this task. I will upload the photo of all the parts/tools individually later, for now just the MFD in ACTION.

I do have the cables, and some other parts to let go. Also a spare MFD unit.

Nissan Skyline ER34 -Brakes part 2

There are certain important factors in regards to the brakes that need more attention. How many of us as a daily drivers driving from home to office and vice verse will look into every details of our car. Food for taught.

Our vehicle brake system has one Job - stop the vehicle. But it takes several key components to deliver the single end result.
To bring the vehicle to halt there are three things work together: leverage, hydraulic force and friction. Leverage is supplied by the driver's leg pressure and the brake pedal. The brake pedal is connected by levers and rods to the back of the power booster. The power booster uses either engine vacuum or a hydraulic pump to multiply and transfer the force of that leverage to the master cylinder. The master cylinder is the heart of your vehicle's brake hydraulic system. It uses the applied leverage to force a reservoir full of brake fluid through valves, steel lines and rubber hoses into hydraulic calipers and wheel cylinders. That hydraulic pressure is then used help to create friction.
For example, disc brakes use a hydraulic caliper fitted with brake pads to grab a spinning disc (or rotor). Drum brakes, on the on the hand have a hydraulic wheel cylinder that pushes a brake shoe against the inside of a spinning drum. Either design involves highly engineered parts and precise movement. The more force a driver applies to the brake pedal, the greater the stopping force that is applied at the wheels.

In addition to this primary braking system, most of today's vehicles utilize an electronic Anti-lock Brake system. Using electronic sensors high pressure pumps, under certain conditions, your ABS system can measure vehicle speed, wheel slip and brake force. Then it actually pumps the brakes for you during an emergency stop.
That's why it's essential to be proactive about testing overall brake components. And to know whether a brake component needs simply to be serviced or totally replaced.

ER34 Front Brake service Kit (AY600-NS047)

Please make sure to check the service kit is a genuine product by Nissan or PIT WORK Japan. Ensuring the originality of the purchased spare part will give confidence while driving and also when applying brake. The genuine part also will last long.

Some tips to watch for when brakes need a mechanic's attention.
  • A low or spongy pedal, which can mean there's air in the hydraulic system
  • A red brake-warning light that could indicate an imbalance in the system
  • An amber brake-warning light that could signal a problem with ABS system
  • Continuous sequeals and grinding sounds - these may mean it's time for new brake pad or shoe
  • Brake pad and rotor thickness - worn pads or rotors that are too thin cannot dissipate the extreme heat produced during braking
  • Brake shoe and drum diameter - worn shoes or drums not only dissipate less heat, they can cause greater brake pedal travel.
Until another post I am signing off from The Nissan Skyline ER34.

Tie Rod and Tie Rod End

As the car is getting older parts tend to give away. This is the nature of all mechanical parts. The Nissan Skyline ER34 has no exceptions. Recently I had been advised by the mechanic to look for replacement for my tie rod and tie rod ends. The tie rod and tie rod end is crucial part for the tyre to be in shape. If we don't change them the tyres will tend to eat up one side.

Yes, when I checked the front Tyre it wobbles right and left. Well the search begins....as for my surprise there is no stock unit available anywhere, all they have is reinforced parts from Japan. Why the hell spend so much to replace with the reinforced unit when one can find locally.

After searching for the replacement parts for about 3weeks I found that EJ has just changed a new set and the best part is this tie rod and tie rod end is from nissan serena C4. This is amazing one can use parts from Nissan serena for the skyline.

This is the part number;

1) Paraut tie rod for Nissan Serena C24
(Part No. V13-238 / Nissan Part No. 48521-4N100)

 2) Paraut tie rod end for Nissan A32/A33/C23
(Part No. V13-126 / Nissan Part No. 48520-0M085)

Nissan Skyline GTR Emblem

Nissan Skyline GTR. The best of the best built by Nissan Japan. What was in their mind when they first developed this mighty Godzilla some called. Well I am not sure but, they have done a great job by introducing the Skylines....

The GTR34 front gril emblem is a highly sought after market part. There are a few reason behind this. First the GTR owners tend to loose the emblem to the thieves. Sometimes a GTT owner who is in the midst of upgrading his GTT to a GTR body kit also need the emblem to give the final touch. The GTR emblem will complement all the effort that they put to upgrade the car to a GTR.

How to find an emblem if you have lost or in need? This is a very tough question to answer. Obviously the emblems are made in japan by Nissan. Where and how they sell these part is a tricky question. One had to put a lot of hard work to acquire this part. Why, because there are too many imitation versions are available at the market.

Recently I had a chance to get a piece for my beloved ER34 GTT. What a satisfaction and proud to install a genuine Nissan Skyline GTR emblem on my GTT.
